Entropy Generation in Poiseuille Flow through a Channel Partially Filled with a Porous Material

Abstra t. In the present paper, a theoreti al analysis of entropy generation due to fully developed ow and heat transfer through a parallel plate hannel partially lled with a porous medium under the e e t of transverse magneti eld and radiation is presented. Both horizontal plates of the hannel are kept at onstant and equal temperature. An exa t solution of governing equation for both porous and lear uid regions has been obtained in losed form. The entropy generation number and the Bejan number are also al ulated. The e e ts of various parameters su h as magneti eld parameter, radiation parameter, Brinkman number, permeability parameter, ratios of vis osities and thermal ondu tivities are examined on velo ity, temperature, entropy generation rate.
